Spent a great deal of today in the parking garage, freezing my little behind off. Now, if only it had burned calories…

I needed to take the car in to get an estimate today, and it would be $2000 to replace the door at that body shop. Yikes!

I haven’t done a lot else today, though I did do a load of dishes and a load of laundry when I got home. Tomorrow will be much more intensified, as I plan to stay home and write/clean all day. 🙂

Not to let today be a complete waste, I wrote the first poem for my “Walkabout” chapbook:

First, here’s the picture that inspired it:

The Drunken Fairies

I think the fey were

drunk
last night.

On cowslip wine or
moonlight…

They left behind
a weaving
line of
toadstools…
where
they should
have
formed a
ring.

Here’s another picture for you, just ’cause I love her, and it was a good Elf shot. This will be going on “Miss Priss’s” page on the main website when it goes up for Conn-Mann.

elf

Isn’t she stunning? She’s my puppy-cat. We think she is either part Maine Coon, or part Norwegian Forest Cat from her characteristics, but she was a rescue, so we don’t know for sure — and she is tiny for either of those breeds, but very compact and muscular.

That fulfills my writing for today, little though it is, it is something, and that is enough for me. 😉

Tracking:

Today I cleaned ― 1 load of dishes, 1 load of laundry

Today I weighed ― 186.5 — at least I didn’t go up. TODAY — tomorrow may be a different story after dinner…

Today I wrote/revised ― 1 new poem

  1. Sort It says:

I recently heard of a company in Texas who has an auto repair shop, that is a DIY. You go in, rent the space for the time you need, and buy any parts there if you need them. They even have a mechanic on site to help you if you get stuck. Sounded pretty cool to me. They plan on franchising at some point I think. I don’t know where in Texas, but it’s closer than Toronto 😀
