Had to go downtown and pay my sales taxes today. So that was a chunk of time. But at least it is done and ON TIME this year.
Tried to fill a prescription, but it had expired two days ago, and it’s been a runaround all day to get it sorted. Still isn’t taken care of, but I tried.
So, that was a lot of my day.
Then I sat and watched last night’s Once Upon a Time as I wrote a review for NovelSpot which may or may not pass muster, since it was my first try.
And I wrote a poem which I posted on Facebook. For those who might not see it there, here you go:
The Constant Battle
Today, poetry drips from my fingertips.
Not in tidy sentences or flowery phrases,
But words which stain my keys with blood…
I struggle with the words—
Fighting for victory
One red-tinged letter at a time.
I sit at my keyboard
Hoping to imprison my opponents
On the page before me—
Locking them away in
My manuscripts to serve
A lifetime sentence.

Perhaps not my best, but it is nice to be writing poetry consistently again. And I went for a BRIEF (cold out there!) walk around the block and got an idea for a new chapbook. In some ways, maybe my most ambitious yet.
So, it wasn’t a LOT of writing, but it was something, and I think I will amend my goal to just be write SOMETHING everyday. It will still be a major step up from going weeks without anything.
Made one of my famous (around the house) catch-all soups tonight. On a cold night, I like to grab several cans from the pantry and mix them together for a nice, hearty supper.
Tonight’s soup was as follows:
1 Can Progresso Italian Vegetable soup
1 Can Campbell’s Broccoli Cheese soup
1 Can Creamed Corn
1 Can Diced Potatoes
1 Box of Tomato Red Roasted Pepper soup (my favorite–it’s yummy)
1 Can extra water
A handful of Vegetarian Sirloin Tips (any meat will do, I bet)
Mix everything together and microwave for about 10 minutes.
Great warm meal on a cold day. Pair with buttered toast if desired. 🙂
