I realize I have been absent for a few days. This may be more and more likely. On the one hand, I am writing like a fiend (up to 78 submissions–of course, a FEW of those are reprints). On the other hand, I don’t feel like blogging at the end of the day. Perhaps I should start blogging to start my day…I’ll think about that.
I still haven’t gotten the Skellyman agent stuff together. I think I am scared of it. Hell, I KNOW I am scared of it. But I really ought to get it done. Then it will be out of my hair for awhile. Instead, I start a new short story. *sigh*
I had to go run an errand today, and ended up being a supportive shoulder. I was very glad I could listen to someone who really needed to talk.
I did get dishes washed today, and the sink scrubbed out, so I did a modicum of housework. Sent off the story I had been working on and started another.
I find that having a specific market in mind makes it easier to write a story. Now whether that means it can’t be used anywhere else is another problem for another day.
Finished watching the second season of The Killing today. There is supposed to be a third season later this year, but I don’t see what it will cover. It’s bad enough it took them two 13 episode angst-ridden seasons to solve this one murder. Really? They’d have been kicked out of any other fake police department for ineptitude. And I’ve always wanted to visit Seattle, but does it EVER stop raining?
I’ve been very good lately. I may play hookey again tomorrow and take a day off…but no, I promised to get Skellyman queried this week. Darn.
Oh well. I do have to get out of the house for a couple of errands.
I’m rather poemed out for today, so I will give you a haiku:
Elf lies between my
monitor and my keyboard,
acting like a pest!
(But she moved right before I finished…)
Tracking:
Cleaning — dishes, sink, took out trash, cooked dinner
Weight — 182.6 before a Wendy’s lunch after my friend’s unburdening–I needed it
Writing — some poems, a testimonial, some work on short stories
