Day 27

Yeah, I know that they say it is easier to catch traffic’s eye with a clever title to your post…but I rather like having the Song Title Sunday different than the rest of the week, and the important thing — the number of consecutive days that I have at least done SOMETHING about my housecleaning — commemorated in the title. What do the readers of the blog think? Of course, you are very quiet readers. 😉 My questions won’t bite. You can send me an answer via this form if you don’t want to comment on the page:

Let’s see what today has in store for us:

15 minutes in the garage. Okay. I can find enough quick stuff to do for that.

UPDATE ONE: Here we are. Got the pile I was working on taken down a bit.

Before…                                                      After…

It doesn’t look like too much, but it was only a few minutes, remember.

Let’s see what the dice want me to do next. An hour and a half in the kitchen. Hooray! I can watch Tabitha Takes Over as I wash dishes. 😉

And get that microwave cleaned out today!

UPDATE TWO:  That was actually fun. Got the rest of my counter fairly clean again, and washed another dishwasher full of dishes. And the microwave went from nasty to shiny. Almost looks brand new. 🙂

And Tabatha….

But I am SUPER proud of the microwave:

Microwave before…                                                  and after

Today I think I will accept the 30 minutes outside in the front yard that was the next roll, because I have a project. It may not work, but I need to try and save a plant, and I am going to see if I can get some cuttings to root.

UPDATE THREE: It was a beautiful day out, though my Kindle blew off the porch rail and got a little scratched up. 😦

While I was at it I transferred a couple of little clumps of sage from out in the middle of the yard where the mowers might get them to next to the house. I hope they will grow.

I hope my mouse-eared jew will grow. I hope ANY plant I touch will grow, but that’s a different problem.

starting to break ground…

My sage…                                                               and mouse-eared jew

I mostly just laid the cuttings on the ground and pressed them into the mud. They root from any node, so I am hoping it will be warm enough for a few days that at least some catch. I had to get the length off the original plant. It needs to be re-potted, and the trailers were leeching all the nutrients out of it.

We’re up to 2 hours and 15 minutes today. Let’s see what else we can get done.

45 minutes in the Office. What a perfect way to end the day at three hours. Wish me luck, I’m going in. 🙂

UPDATE FOUR: I tried…and I did get a bit done…but when I realized that my Kindle was NOT just scratched in its fall, but instead is totally broken, I didn’t have the heart to do the full 45. I am devastated.  It is my constant companion. Now I’ll have to send it off to Amazon and see what happens. I think it is about two weeks out of warranty. At least I think I still have cassette tapes of the audio I was listening to, so I might be able to finish it.  Or I did find my iPod the other day…can Audible books go on one of those?

Here’s the bit I managed to get done:

Stock bookcase before…                            Stock bookcase after

I said it wasn’t much…

I am so crushed at the moment…over a silly “thing”. We are too wrapped up in our stuff, aren’t we…

DAILY WRAP UP:  15 minutes Garage + 1 hour 30 minutes Kitchen + 30 minutes Front Yard + 30 minutes in Office = 2 hours and 45 minutes…
